The Department of Information Technologies is a powerful scientific center, a leader in the training of computer science specialists in organizational, socio-economic systems and technical image processing systems in Ukraine.

The priority research area of the department is computer technologies for data processing and analysis (Data Science). The Department has an initiative research topic “Research and computer-mathematical modeling of complex systems and processes in science, education and information and communication activities of enterprises” (2018-2022, Head: Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Yurii Antonov).
The strategic task of the department’s scientific development is the formation of a scientific school of computer technologies for data processing and artificial intelligence, its recognition by the scientific community.

Conferences, seminars, competitions of scientific works
In 2020, the department launched the annual All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists “Applied Information Technologies” and the annual All-Ukrainian Conference “Computer Technologies of Data Processing” on computer technologies of data processing.
Contests of student research papers and student competitions in the specialty 122 “Computer Science” are held annually.
