Inna Yermakova

Senior lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Social Communications

In 2010, she graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Business and Technology, and in 2024, from the National Academy of Culture and Arts Management.

She worked in public service. In 2008, she became a member of the National Union of Photo Artists, headed the Luhansk regional organization of the NUPHU, and joined the NUPHU Board.

On September 1, 2012, she began teaching at the Luhansk State Academy of Culture and Arts. On September 9, 2013, she became head of the Department of Art Photography at the Luhansk State Academy of Culture and Arts.

In 2015, she was re-elected as chair of the Vinnytsia Regional Organization of the NSPAU. In December 2020, she was re-elected for a new term.

From 2015 to 2022 and since 2025, she has been working as a senior lecturer in the Department of Journalism at Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University.

Main areas of scientific research:

    • visual journalism;
    • manipulation of visual content;
    • violations of standards in visual journalism;
    • human rights in media and media education;
    • conflict-sensitive journalism;
    • specifics of journalistic work with individuals who have experienced trauma.

Active photo artist, member of the Board of the National Union of Photo Artists of Ukraine, chair of the Vinnytsia Regional Organization of the National Union of Photo Artists of Ukraine, author of personal exhibitions, participant in all-Ukrainian and international photo salons, organizer and curator of informational and artistic projects in Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland: “Life at Zero,” “The Art of Independence,” “Objective History. UPA,” “Luhansk Maidan. Pages of Resistance,” “The Lithuanian Army. From Formation to NATO. The Experience of Fighting for Independence,“ ”Front Line. Year 2018,“ ”Luhansk Outpost,“ ”Childhood in Polynove.” Practical activities as an expert and consultant are carried out in the field of educational and exhibition activities, implementation of projects in journalistic documentary photography.

Scientific consulting within the framework of the “Art of Independence” project in 2017 at the National Museum of Ukrainian History, scientific consulting and participation in the expert commission of the Memorial Complex “National Museum of Ukrainian History in World War II” in 2019-2020, scientific consultant for the exhibition “Ukrainian East” National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II in 2019-2020, scientific consultant, individual partner of the “Hide and Seek” project of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II in 2019. During 2023-2025, she was engaged in scientific and managerial work at the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv and the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. Author of textbooks, monographs, and scientific papers. Certified media education trainer from the Ukrainian Press Academy, DW Akademie, and the Ukrainian Institute of Media and Communication.
